Sonic never quite goes where I want him to (in comparison to the Genesis games) in the 2D sections and I can't tell if the physics are off, the platforms are too big, or what and when it comes to 3D Sonic, he's too loose in my opinion. They're not bad per se, but it all just feels off and I don't know what to blame it on. I also don't think the controls are good. I don't agree about the gameplay at all but to me, things like auto target and boost buttons are everything that I hate about modern Sonic. Yes, the music is great, because it's just older music that was great. Opinions are opinions and I respect yours but I also disagree with a lot of it personally. The physics were better than Sonic 4 episode 1 and the other mobile games, but they weren't as good as Sonic 4 episode 2 and they were a far cry away from the classics, and the controls were really laggy and too floaty. The classic stages had decent platforming, but the controls and physics just weren't there. The game clearly wasn't designed for slower platforming sections like the classics and adventure games did very well. And when you actually slow down in modern sonic sections, the controls are really awkward. Speed should be a reward for good platforming, and build up gradually, not be something you can easily achieve with a few rings and a boost button. Sonic is a platformer, not a racing game. Solid physics, responsive controls and fantastic platforming are the pillars of a good Sonic game, and Generations just doesn't hit that bar.įor modern sonic sega needs to focus less on speed, and more on platforming. Some nice nostalgia factor, but that engine needs a lot of work, especially on the controls and physics. The whole hedgehog engine just feels like crap compared to the classic and adventure game engines, and the gameplay isn't as good either. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
